So, I have returned to law school. The first week of classes has/is going fairly smoothly as I attempt to fall back into some sort of routine after my hiccup length vacation.
I have encountered a minor problem though. Although my body returned to Rhode Island on Sunday evening from Vermont, without giving me any notice my brain is apparently still on vacation. I imagine he is off skiing still, getting home to the cabin and enjoying a cold Michelob, chatting with with people as he takes the "singles line" and heads up on the chair lift with some other vacationers, maybe stopping at the bar after a day on the slopes and flirting with ski bunnies. Or- maybe he has his cerebellum tucked in a fascinating book like Hip: The History or is watching Anchorman another time and laughing is lobes off. Ah- that brain of mine, he's a good time. And while most people might be angry that they made the trip back to school, did their grocery shopping, tidied up the mess from last semester, bought books, and started attending classes, while their brain still remained blissfully unoccupied in the blank pallette of vacation life- I am an understanding guy. Plus if you have met my brain- you know he is pretty neurotic and gets stressed out by school and work. He needs this time off to just chill and recover from last semester, ponder the meaning of life and perhaps the fineries of a good salsa. I imagine if he came back to early- it would probably just result in the uncomfortable agony of premature reacclimation law school life for both of us. I realize it means that all the reading I am doing right now is not being retained- but hey- that would have probably happened anyways!
So- live it up brain. I hope you are enjoying yourself and I look forward to both of us getting back to work on tuesday!
I didn't know you took up salsa dancing!
