In an atttempt to come up with material which does not reveal my personal life (which I have no qualms about doing usually) I am going to write up a review of some of the movies that I have seen.
Monster: This movie starring Charlise Theron in her Academy Award winning role was perhaps the worst movie I have seen in a long time and I advise you not to see it if possible. Brendan and I watched this on a friday night on the big screen up in Vermont. In an effort to prevent people from seeing this movie, I am just going to ruin it for you and also sum the whole thing up in a single phrase: old street hooker finds lesbian love with young girl and also becomes serial killer of johns, most of whom are fat, after she is raped by one of them. Yeah...it sucked. I could go on, but the point here is- do not see this movie.
Phish, Bittersweet Motel: Brendan and I felt the need to clense our minds following the previous monstrosity. This documentary about Phish was really fun, and to a relative newcomer to being a Phish fan, the movie in many ways seperated fact from fiction. Bittersweet Motel in many ways clarified what the group of men who make up the band are really about- making good music that they enjoy, while making clear that their fans- many of them essentially using Phish as a replacement for the Grateful Dead, were something different. As far as documentaries go, this movie was pretty entertaining.
